Help Redesign the Narrative

Hey, Narrators!  In honor of the Second Anniversary of Ninja Assassin (2009), the Narrative is due for another look, but this time, we want some class participation.

Remember...the Narrative was started as an educational forum.  Blasians getting together is great and all, but in order to get along and stay together, they have to LEARN about one another.  So on this thread, post links to classy, professional-looking backgrounds.  STAY AWAY from Afro-Asiatic designs (for now, anyways).

Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!

  1. You may want to specify "classy" and "professional-looking." We may have different perspectives of those terms.

  5. @neo_prodigy I like your first suggestion

  6. Maybe I am too new to the Narrative to be making suggestions. But something a little lighter in color would be better, imo. The current layout is seriously dark.

  7. Something a little lighter is definitely on my mind, but I want to also be genderless or androgynous.

  8. Thank you so much for this great blog site! I am Fredrick. I run the DREAM OF THE WATER CHILDREN blogsite. So far I am alone in posting. I am the son of an African-American MAN and Japanese WOMAN who met during the Korean War when my father was stationed in Japan. I am forming a "Black Pacific" academic-creative group in the San Francisco Bay Area and trying to get more dialogue. I would love for this site to have a different feel, with different font. I use WORDPRESS, I like their designs. I would love to do some postings of yours on MY BLOG, perhaps work together some how.

You can see my blog at:

I'm Amaya, and I'm a mod on this blog. Welcome to the Narrative. Can you please clarify the above statement? What exactly do you mean by a "different feel?"

Everyone, feel free to make suggestions and post links. They are appreciated. I might add that while a lighter color scheme and design may be preferable, it's better on the eyes to have light-colored words on a dark background.

    Amen.

  11. Amaya, you make an excellent point. I can read on here much longer than on other blogs because I don't suffer the eye strain that a light background brings.

And I just want to say that I love the fact that this is an Asian MEN and Black WOMEN blog, a combination that doesn't get nearly enough representation or appreciation. I like that the focus and feel of the narrative is focused on women like me and the relationships ~I~ have... with Asian men. I hope that never gets redirected to other pairings.

  12. So...dark stays.

    All right then...color suggestions, Narrators?

  15. Sophisticated, stylish, a place that grown folks would frequent.

    I'm feeling this.

  16. But still semi-bookish, right? Like, folks could hang here but still learn something?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Semi bookish? No. Intelligent, educated and high class. Definitely.

  18. Oh, I like it a lot!
