Apology Not Accepted

From Jenny Hyun:
Okay guys, listen up!

You are threatening me with the fact that you know my address. You guys have also started to roar your engines every so often outside of my home. I get it. This is my official apology to the black community.

I do not regret what I said, however, I now understand that there are some lines one cannot cross.

Please take this apology and do what you will with it, but hopefully, everyone will remember to stay calm, cool and collected and remember that violence is not the answer
.
Apology not accepted.

I'm not going to go into a long-winded spiel about feelings and sensitivity; personally, I think they have nothing to do with the situation.  I'm not going to point out the irony of an aspiring R&B singer/songwriter advocating the extermination of the very people who created the genre, not to mention spearheaded the Civil Rights Movement which provided her with many of the opportunities she enjoys today.  I'm not going to discuss the vulgar desperation of such public stunts. And I'm not going go to remind people of the contributions and accomplishments of Africans all across the world, spanning back through the ages, since before anyone else even existed.

None of that's the point here.

The point is that actions have consequences.  Hyun went on a genocidal, public verbal rampage against Black people, and she simply needs to experience the consequences of those actions.  If she has a songwriting gig, she needs to lose it and be black-listed from future opportunities.  If she gets pummeled to the ground in broad daylight, then while she's down there, she ought to take a moment out to reflect upon her actions.

She also needs to apologize to Jeremy Lin.  Her words shouldn't have been uttered in his name.  They're merely adding to the hellish racial maelstrom he's already dealing with, and I can't think of anything more disrespectful or inconvenient right now.

As for Mr. Floyd 90-days-in-jail Mayweather...I sincerely hope he's paying attention to all of this (doubtful).  Hyun already strikes me as being a dysfunctional human being, but all it takes to set off a person like that is some offhanded comment from the nearest village idiot.  Silence is golden sometimes for a reason, ladies and gentlemen, and this was most definitely one of those times.

  1. Calling for genocide of a race of people. WTF did she think was gonna happen?

    1. Thanks...people are free to say what they want but we need to see more people suffer the consequences for what they say.

And of course, speech that incites violence or that puts other people in danger is actually not protected in the same way either.

    2. exactly. The only reason she gave this "apology" is to keep someone from giving her the beatdown of her life. No acknowledgement of the fact that she wished genocide upon me and my people was wrong. Just let me say enough to keep from catching a beatdown or worse. Worst apology ever.

  3. Exactly. Nothing excepted. That was so not an apology. Every time I attempt to speak to this I just can't find words. Considering the group she allegedly writes for has a member that was doing her version of this a while ago, I am not a fan of girl groups anyway. Alas, stepping back.

  4. People are saying that Girls Generation is racist too. What happened with them? I only know of Big Bang's racism.

I don't know if that is a part of the Girls Generation prejudice rumor but a member pretty much said that she was surprised Alicia Keys was pretty..considering that she is Black.

I actually haven't heard about Big Bang doing anything prejudice yet but I won't rule that out either.

    2. There's also the Girls Generation video of them looking flat out disgusted while watching a video of an African American (Puma Shock)singing one of their hit songs. As for Big Bang, Seungri (the one I never liked) made a dumbass (excuse my language but this has been one heck of a day) comment about a white guy being upset with him and then saying if it were a Black guy he'd probably of shot Seungri. It was a mess.

    4. @deedee7789 Wow, you went to the forum that is -dedicated- to hating Girls' Generation to get your information. Sorry, but that's like going to Stormfront to get your information about black people. That Alicia Keys comment is bull, it was a rumor in 2009 spread by anti fans (such as STAND) who
      1. Don't know Korean
      2. Never actually listened to the audio, which would be useless anyway since they don't know Korean
Don't spread rumors when you don't even know what you're talking about. Seems like @Quick Question has eaten up those BS rumors and hate comments like candy though, because the girls do not look disgusted in that video at all. They even complimented PumaShock. The only reason they would -seem- to look disgusted is probably because they're actually tired. Korean pop idols don't have the luxury of sitting around doing whatever they want all day, they're constantly working and the only time they ever get to sleep is usually during car rides to their next appointment. Especially during that time when Girls' Generation had literally exploded with popularity.

  5. My Bullshit meter detects that something is way the f*ck off with this 'supposed' apology. Not an apology at all, more like a 'truce'. She don't don't know 'us' very well does she?!!! We don't take 'truces', but we see you, and please believe we have a long memory, this ain't getting swept under the rug and forgotten either. Her dirt is exposed.

  6. What exactly did she say? and can you link it

  7. My take on her apology is as much as I do not wish violence on her somebody is going to punch all off into her face and she is SSSCCCCAAAAAARRRREEEEDDDD. Like she said, she knows it, they know it, we know it. This apology is not helping her at all. At first I thought she was just racist and crazy but now I'm starting to think she might need a priest. And I agree she should have left Jeremy Lin out of this, I feel bad he gets recognition and it's ruined by racist ESPN articles, Mayweather's he man woman hater/ just plain hates on everyone behind, and then a no name will never matter in music singer doing anything for relevance.

  8. So when it comes to her, violence is not kosher. But Black people's lives are fair game.

Gee...where have we heard that brand of bullshit before?

    1. Look I dig this blog I do but you can't honestly say that it's okay for someone to harm her just because she SAID what she said. You act like I'm saying what she said was okay. I'm just saying if someone was to hurt her would we be any better than her? You can't tell her violence against us isn't okay but we can beat your ass, kill you etc.? That is fail logic. Plus that would only fule her hatred while making Black people look like violent thugs, thanks for proving her right. We can't demand anything we aren't willing to give. Sometimes narrators and readers are too quick to want to act like someone is siding with the enemy. Sorry I'm not an eye for an eye type person.

    2. Here's what I'm saying - and I've actually discussed this before - the whole point of "speech is silver, silence is golden" and the Golden Rule itself is to avoid consequences we are unwilling to handle.

Jenny Hyun not only advocated violence against us, but our mass extermination. But the moment she realized she was the only one about to get exterminated (so to speak), all of a sudden "violence is never the answer." Just like Floyd the-wife-beater Mayweather didn't realize his words were going to trigger an outburst, Jenny Hyun didn't realize her words could result in a severe ass-kicking, which she obviously doesn't want.

Furthermore, I'm not letting people off the hook just because they SAID something. Remember when Sarah Palin and her ilk went on a verbal rampage, rousing whole crowds to "reload" and list politicians with bulls-eyes by their names? The next thing we knew, Jared Lee Loughner blew a hole in six people - including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl - and wounded several others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (the original target of his assassination attempt), who - after being in a coma - is still relearning how to properly speak, walk, read, and write, and has had to resign from office.

Words have power. The entire Jewish Holocaust was triggered by the charismatic, manipulative words of Adolf Hitler (also mentioned by Jenny Hyun, go figure). Like it or not, words have power, and no amount of fauxpologizing, LOLing, or JKing can reverse the damage once it's done.

I too would hate for physical harm to come to someone simply because of words, but it happens, which is precisely why people are often advised to think before they talk.

    3. Okay well since her address is out there floating on the internet you get it, go to her house, and kill her. That's one less racist and while you are at it go kill the neo nazi group that is actually training for extermination as we type about a mentally insane person ranting on twitter. Don't tell me words have power like I don't know, her words were powerful enough to create the largest group of anti-racist I've seen so far in K-Pop and get alot of people who were silent before talking and trying to do something (albeit it is not trying to actually kill her but her career and any influence on the industry she could of ever dreamed of achieving).

Also your last paragraph sums up what I was saying in the first place. She opened her mouth now the people have their pitch forks, and even though I wouldn't wish violence she's probably going to get it.

With all do respect maybe you should have thought before you assumed you were hearing "the same brand of bullsh*t".

      Delete
    4. With all due respect, maybe you should stop creating an argumentative dialogue where there need be none.

For now, we appear to be on the same page. Lose the snark while we're still ahead.

    5. She has now taken down her fake apology from her website FYI

    6. Because it is not in my nature to argue with people or disrespect them for having different views I will say I am sorry if you felt I was being snarky (though my last post was made with that intent so I cannot apologize for that one). However I was not arguing but stating where I was coming from and defending myself. It would appear that I disrupted the harmony here, it won't happen again.

  9. One of the great things about Jeremy Lin is that his exploits are exposing alot covert racists. As for Jenny I hope she fades away into oblivion where her voice and her opinions are no longer heard.

  11. @Anonymous...please leave a name. Thanks.

    WARNING: Rant follows

What the fuck kind of double-speak is that? What do you expect for us to do with that bullshit apology? Wipe our collective asses with it? Because a piece of toilet paper is all that it amounts to. If you don't regret your words, then what the hell are you apologizing for???? If you meant what you said, then why are you saying sorry? Is it because you're about to get a BEAT-EM-DOWN???? Don't run now, bitch. Don't run. Stand your ground and own your words. You're responsible for them; consequences and all. You can think what you want, but it's what you say and do that matters. You opened your mouth wide enough for the world to hear; did you think no one was listening and wouldn't take it to heart? You think people aren't walking around here under so much stress that they will let your words gloss over? Child, please. If you get your ass kicked six ways from Sunday, then it's your own damn fault.

@QQ: While violence isn't the right way to handle things, a lot of people are LOOKING FOR A REASON to whup somebody's ass. They, too, don't care about consequences. If Jenny's objective was to gain notoriety, she succeeded. However, she may also have succeeded in suffering grievous harm. Folks don't know what will set people off.

She showed her entire ass to the world, so she better pucker up to kiss ours.

    1. Oh really? Now she's gonna play the "crazy" card? Please. She ain't crazy; she's trying to avoid an acute case of BEAT'EM DOWN!!! You can't use mental illness as an excuse for racism. Hell no. Hell to the no. I guess they're going to use either bipolar disorder or dissociative identity disorder to justify her rant. I call bullshit on this as well. Ain't nothing wrong with that hoe. She just can't accept the responsibility of her actions. And it's no wonder people don't take mental disorders as seriously as they should. I hope she has a team of Black doctors, nurses and attendants ready to treat her ass.

    2. It seems they took down the original bullshit apology and have put this up instead:

"Jenny Hyun has been admitted to a hospital today. She is a paranoid schizophrenic and has been battling mental illness, a debilitating disease for many years.
Friends and family of Jenny want to extend their sincere apology for any harmful statements made verbally or via the web that Jenny has made while she was in the height of a psychosis episode. We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time for her."

      What do yall think?

      Delete
    3. I saw this and I'm not surprised at all. Most people were looking for a reason to excuse her racism. I'm sorry that she suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, but she's still a racist and deserves all the venom coming her way.

      Delete
    4. I feel bad for people who are truly mentally ill because people like Jenny use their problem to make themselves look like victims.

She knew what she was doing when she went off on this tirade. Even if Miss. Jenny is a paranoid schizophrenic, the illness may effect what you do,but when it comes to racism, that is something that is instilled in you from someone. She may be a paranoid schizophrenic, but she was a racist all along. She just trying to use that illness as an excuse and she'll come out telling people that we put her there. Sorry, nothing she says will make me sympathize with her.

    5. http://www.psywww.com/intropsych/ch12_abnormal/paranoid_schizophrenia.html

"Also common in paranoid schizophrenia are delusions of grandeur, a feeling of possessing absolute truth or the solution to the world's problems."

"Ironically, considering the bizarreness of their symptoms, paranoid schizophrenics often show little impairment in other respects. They can be intelligent people. Often they can function well on a job. Their prognosis or outlook for the future is better than that of other schizophrenics. In other words, they are more likely to get better and resume a capacity for independent living."

Like the rest of you said, her mental illness has nothing to do with her racist outlook. Her disorder does not exactly cloud her judgement. She is paranoid but has control over her thoughts and feelings. I call B.S. on that lame attempt to excuse her actions. I'm ready her Kpop to implode now.

    7. Saw some House Cassies also plying the 'mentally ill' excuse, and saying that she 'just needs to meet some good black people'. Excuse me while I punch something.

Much as how I hate when philanderers use 'sex addiction' as an excuse, I hate when people play the mentally ill defense when their shit blows up in their face. Genuine sufferers don't need people like her riding their coat-tails, so to speak, to minimize culpability.

Of course, she's going to spin this break down as due to the supposed threats she allegedly received. Just watch.

    8. I saw some of those house negroes and if I could, I'd smack the white identification clean out of every one of them. What got me is all the 'we should rise above it' and calling her out was 'stooping to her level.' *shakes head*

I did get a laugh from them panicking over the fact that kpop was no longer their "safe haven" and "stressing them out." I get the feeling they haven't seen anything yet.

    9. @Cece D, the first thing I thought after wanting to jack her up was, this woman has got to be schitzo. Not rationale, mentally healthy person would spew crap like she did.
