"The Fifth Commandment", a Forgotten Cookie

How the hell did I forget this?

I mean...seriously! This movie is "Blasian" in every sense of the word!

For a breakdown of the cast, plot, and some juicy screen caps, head to the Bar:  POC I'm Watching: Rick Yune.

  1. Girl, you know I was all over this. Used some of the images in "Precession." Rick was fine as wine in this...

  2. Yeah this was a hot movie. I wish they had a real love scene

  3. This is a movie that I have never heard about. Wished that I would have known about it in the past.

  4. I love me some Rick Yune and I loved that he was in almost every scene. But I just did not enjoy the movie. It just didn't flow for me. And I have to disagree with FormerFatDiva. A love scene would have made no sense. I didn't even get the kiss. I was like where did that come from. Why? Maybe you guys saw something I obviously missed. The chemistry just wasn't there like Raizo and Mika. Which doesn't make sense since they were supposedly (Rick and Dania) dating briefly though I never found proof of it. Plus this seemed rushed to me.

    1. Rick Yune wrote the screenplay at the last minute after, I think, 1 or 2 writers dropped out of the project.

Thus, the film has all kinds of problems, but he meant well, he pushed forward, and he cast mostly POC...thus he gets a nod.

In other words, this is a movie you watch mainly for Rick Yune. You can tell he made it with some friends on a tight schedule and an even tighter budget. So you sit down with some friends, sip some drinks, and keep rewinding the shower scene.

    2. Yeah I read an interview he did that stated it was during the writer's strike so I understand. He did try and meant well. I did like the fact dealt mainly with POC which is rare. It would be nice to see more of it. Trust me after a while I just muted the sound and fast forwarded all the scenes without him! Its a Rick Yune eye candy movie.

    3. Oh, yes...muting is often necessary. Like when he cries out over Bokeem Woodbine's dead body.

  5. After watching the two clips here I immediately went online and found a link to the movie and watched it right away.

Considering the circumstances and setbacks behind this movie, I thought it wasn't bad at all. A lot of the plot seemed to mirror the storylines of 'Romeo Must Die' and 'Ninja Assassin'. I definitely think that if Rick Yune had more to work with, it could've been a lot better, but I definitely liked it. I can tell that certain things were kind of rushed and put together in a hurry. . .again, flaws that were obvious in 'Ninja Assassin' as well. . . .

And as random and kinda pointless as it was, at least the would be AM/BW couple in this movie shared a kiss. . . .in Romeo Must Die and Ninja Assassin the black female love interests technically saved the lives of the beautiful Asian protaginists and Trisha only got a hug. . . .Mika didn't even get a fist bump >_<

I thought it was cool how he made it so that his foster father and brother were black men, and that he was trained in martial arts by a black man. White movie-makers in Hollwood would NEVER pick up a storyline like that.

Oh and of course, Rick Yune is totally a hottie. He doesn't have a deep, soulful voice or a big booty like Papa Rain, but I ain't complainin ^_^ He's a good actor too, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him in more projects.

Yes...very interesting how he decided to go that route.

    2. @Kuri-chan-I have to point out it was a AM/LW. I didn't like the kiss. It would have made sense in NA because Raizo and Mika seem more connected. It was just awkward.
