You know what? I'm about to go to bed, and I don't need any nightmares. I'll watch this when I'm bright-eyed in broad daylight.
(goes to hollywood with a h-bomb)
Another "'Merica!" movie with an implausible, stale and pretty corny dance crew twist.... ::cue geyser of vomit::
Damn straight to Redbox it went. Wasn't that the dude from Lost?
Lord have mercy. Aint got time for this mighty whitey bullshit. And for real this group lacked discipline before a white guy came and straightened them out? Like what does he know about being a b-boy? The only film of this variety I could tolerate was the one with Antonio Banderas.
I am DEAD! I am laughing at the clip, the comments and the thought that we are still making movies like this. Sigh, I just can't anymore. Between this and The Lone Ranger drama, I am boycotting the movie theaters for a while just to save face and be ignorant to things for a while. Hot mess and a half. lol
The director is Benson Lee - a Korean American - who directed Planet B-Boy which was met with critical acclaim.Uh...see a difference? Anybody? Anything? Anything at all?
*cough*White Saviour Syndrome*cough*And I am LOLing forever at the French boy telling his Mama to get over him being a break dancer with *le gasp* mostly Black dudes.
....Planet B Boy = B (granted I was like O.o at the guy in Japan who quit his job to b-boy even though he has wife and kid) and AT LEAST more so about the history and had stories from several countries and their attempts in the German (I think) final B-boy championships. But this film is just...so Hollywood. White savior-check, troubled street youth with no self control and aggression-check, random love story that doesn't relate AT ALL to the film-check, sexism-check, US v THEM bs-check, poc as props for comedic or "cool" effect-check,and just a dash of anti Korean sentiment-extra bonus. Looks like just more Hollywood trash to me.
I thumbs up this comment.
Another one of those pictures,eh?Laz could have done better than this.
He's not the only one. Benson Lee must've been offered a huge check.
The only fail I could see was Chris Brown.....and the fact that they keep making films like this ! Com'on 'Merica !!!LOL. I do like dance films, for the dancing not the story. Step Up 1 was good.
I love how the star of Red Dawn (the stupid brother) is in this too. Another anti-Korean movie. The icing on the ignorant cake.
