The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete (2013)

During a sweltering summer in New York City, 13-year-old Mister’s (Brooks) hard-living mother (Hudson) is apprehended by the police, leaving the boy and nine-year-old Pete (Dizon) alone to forage for food while dodging child protective services and the destructive scenarios of the Brooklyn projects. Faced with more than any child can be expected to bear, the resourceful Mister nevertheless feels he is an unstoppable force against seemingly unmovable obstacles. But what really keeps the pair in the survival game is much more Mister’s vulnerability than his larger-than-life attitude. (Source)

  1. Remember the boy from our favorite Target commercial? Well...now y'all know his name.

Congrats to Ethan Dizon! May his career continue to soar.

  2. I'm happy to see Ethan and Skylan getting their due on the big screen.I knew that face(Ethan) looked familiar to me.Skylans face also looks familiar. He looks like that boy on the AT&T commercial as the older brother of the boy who told him that he had a " jacked up haircut"..lol!

  3. I am really sick of the infantilization of Asians in media, tho.

    1. Mm *nods*. The harmless, helpless Asian trope.
